Ever since Infiniti was launched with mystifying advertising images of rocks and trees 21 years ago, Nissan Motor Co.'s luxury brand has been hard to pin down. But while luxury competitors such as BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi and Lexus have soared in consumer popularity over the past decade, Infiniti has struggled to keep up.
Up to 30 Jaguar D-Types will race at the 2014 Goodwood Revival
The Jaguar E-Type os perhaps the most loved classic Jaguar, but the D-Type is the most iconic. This year is the 60th anniversary of the D-Type, so the Goodwood Revival – that wonderful world of all things classic car – will be celebrating the D-Type’s anniversary this September with a race where up to 30 D-Types are expected to compete. D-Types from around the world will congregate in Sussex for the Lavant Cup on the Saturday of the Revival, with plenty of regular D-Types, the later long-nose variant and even the experimental E2A one-off prototype that acted as a bridge between the D-Type and E-Type taking part.
As far as the Ford Mondeo is concerned, few cars can be more evocative than the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) race cars from the late 1990s. For legions of racing fans, the Mondeo was part of the golden era of BTCC - a time when factory-backed “Super Touring” cars did battle on the race tracks of Great Britain.
